Local Lead Scribe Review,

Obviously our defense was a complete disappointment this year but our O-Line is getting old as well. What positions or specific players would you like to see us draft in the first couple rounds??
I want to know how it was run, I mean the king or queen can’t control everthing, who helped and what made it function as a proper government. Were there courts and things and were there schools?
Those who are of organized faith stress the importance / necessity to go to church, temple, synagogue, etc. and listen to the person who is conducting / leading the planned topic from the Word.
Some say that it”s not enough to be True to the Word, that you also have to (it’s demanded) that you also go to the building that’s set to worship in.
Where is it written in Koran, Holy Scripture, Bible, etc. that people are to gather together in a BUILDING that’s set up as place of worship and listen to person (leader) at podium speak the Word?
This topic came up with my sister recently. My sister and I (both 45 +), live in different states and are aware of teachings about Love, Divine Word, Jesus, kindness to one another, etc.
Difference is she goes to church and I’m of no organized faith (Spiritual).
Her and I are both of dear heart, kindness, “walk the walk” and live what is natural of soul and heart. Same traits that’s written and taught in scriptures.
She said that it’s “demanded” in the Bible that people go to church and listen to the leader. My sis sited Hebrews 15 – 17 that expresses such. I saw no mention of church so asked her for reference to scripture to support her statement that Bible says it’s “demanded” by God that people to go a building to listen to a leader. Worship in a house of God.
Is not the “house” the world. The “house” being where ever you are at any given moment be it your car, a field, grocery store, etc. and the “leader” is person who “leads the way” (models, encourages) Love, the Word?
Some say…”Do as you choose, don’t listen to others”, etc. Yes, and I’m at peace with that.
Still, wondering… where in Holy Scripture does it SPECIFICALLY say to gather with others in a BUILDING that’s specifically set up for worship (church, temple, etc.) to listen to a leader?
Is not our soul, heart the “alter”? The “church, temple” is our lives and how we live it in the world? The “gathering in fellowship with others” those we relate with throughout our days? The Word, is living what we’ve learned, clarity of remembrance from soul, Spirit and to live, walk, Be that Word?
I very open minded and simply seeking where in Scriptures it SPECIFICALLY refers to a LITERAL building that people are to gather on regular basis.
I say SPECIFICALLY as some scriptures use words that convey what a person thinks the scriptures referred to is vague, not words that are specifying the leader being a documented, licensed Rabbi, Reverend, etc. and the place being a building specifically set up for worship.
Biblically, what constitutes a “leader”?
References that support the SPECIFICS of your answer greatly appreciated. So, before replying please look at specific words of your references. Are the writings in referance ague or literal words that provide answer to my seeking and question.
Thanks much.

Typo…last paragraph. Word was “vague” not “ague”. “words in reference vague or specific”?
.
.
Three answers so far…that’s appreciated.
Yet, in addition to answer am seeking reference to support your answer.
In conversation with my sis, she recites specific text, asks for reference to support statements. So resources needed here. Thanks much.

“John”. Sorry, forgot the chapter ref.. My sisters reference was Hebrews 13: 15 – 17.
.
.
“Claptic”. I did research, Bible and elsewhere, and no passages found that says it’s rule and/or commandment that people go to church / temple / synagogue each week.
I researched, did’nt find any such passage so using this forum as added research.
In replies thus far, I see the passage refererences stating that “as was the custom” Jesus did attend weekly services, yet he did not continue that past boyhood age.
Jesus visited temples / synagogues yet He,, nor anyone else said it was a commandment to do so.
Two or more gather, fellowship, share the Holy Word, no matter if in home, building, field.
People go to church today? That’s fine, yet to scoff at others who know the Word yet don’t go to a building or organized faith each week baffles me.
Looked up in Bible, not found (because it’s not there?) yet open minded so researching it. This forum is one aspect of that research.
Don’t care to share an answer? Than why share “answer” that says you won’t be sharing answer?
.
Or hold a position within the clergy at the same level as a man could. Thanks!
I’ve been dealing with just so much stress in my life. I am diagnosed with depression, bi-polar and anxiety.
Lately though I’m getting overwhelmed. My mind just doesn’t stop. I’m always thinking. I’ll think about one thing and then that leads to another and on and on and on. I’m getting overwhelmed.
Do you guys know any websites that have communities or messages boards for support for these things?

Yes, I am Catholic and I am appalled at the discrimination (yes, discrimination) I experience anywhere I go. Studies have been done and Catholicism is arguably the now largest and longest standing discrimination in America.
I have seen in questions asked here and was surprised at the number of people who don’t even think Catholicism is Christianity. The question was about priests and a case on molestation but it’s always aggravated me that those stories always make the news even though priests are the lowest percentage of people of any religion or any other group of people ever who commit that terrible crime.
Now I know that the church isn’t perfect but people are people and everyone makes mistakes. I think people expect perfection from the only organization that consistently challenges the norm and strives to do what’s right.
I’m very curious how people respond to this kind of question.
Truthbearer, your first link claims that Jesuits and the Vatican ordered the bombing of Hiroshima, that Catholicism is the continuation of the Roman Empire, and that they orchestrated the entire first and second world war. None of these claims are backed by any evidence what so ever. Your second link claims a Jesuit priest wrote “Mein Kampf”. I’m not even gonna bother reading the third or looking for your other radical Syrian claim.
Hussein, you are of the few who make backed, reasonable, logical claims (yes I’m biased), thank you.
Silly Salamander, I can be identified as Catholic by wearing a saint medal or Knight of Columbus pendent/shirt or any other symbol of the Catholic Church.
Maggie64, it is not contradictory to treat life as a sacred thing rather than treat it around our convenience by killing babies we don’t want to deal with or preventing them for the temporary pleasure of sex.
Nofixedaddress, I appreciate your link, yours (not necessarily more than others of both sides) have been very informative and descriptive of many arguments.
Christopher, I agree with you, I also avoid judging other religions due to my lack of knowledge of them.
Barbiefl09, I’ve mentioned contraceptives already above, I’m not so sure about anti-circumcision, the church is against divorce because marriage is about a union between two people who love each other deeply in every way for better or worse. I’m not sure what you mean about “for the better” but the civil benefits should be separate if that’s what you mean.
LouisRiel, I’m not sure what extremist source you get your info from but I’m pretty sure the media would be more than willing to tell me something anywhere close to what you claim and that’s not what I’ve ever heard.
Godsuncledave, I’d like a source for that claim, if you want my source email me.
Paulb, I’d like to see some more examples before I’d agree that the church is criminal, arrogant, ignorant, or irresponsible. The Pope is against all contraceptives due to statements mentioned above.
None, it is impossible to get all the answers from the bible, and the answers that are there must be interpreted. The Pope and the church do their best to interpret the best they can without having clear explicit instructions to go by.
I mean, what was their culture like, and how did they live?
