That is what Rupert Murdoch does in Australia and I believe the U.K. before an election … do you think that is an appropriate way to run a democratic process … and that’s not even mentioning the close ties this Media Baron has with other senior members of various political parties in those countries and the U.S.

While I’m interested in both sides of the argument, at the moment I’m more interested to hear the view points of those who don’t believe that terrorism is the biggest threat to security and why they don’t think it is.

  15. Deborah Holliday says:

People love rags-to-riches stories one of my favorite is Oprah Surely the most well-known rags-to-riches story of our era is the story of Oprah Winfrey. Having been born into abject poverty in rural Mississippi, Winfrey went from being a young girl clothed in potato sacks (literally) to the richest and most powerful female media mogul in the world. Winfrey was able to accomplish this by moving from a disruptive and abusive household in with her stricter father.

Once Winfrey was subject to discipline and was supported at school, she became an honors student and got her big break when she became a newscaster in Nashville after finishing college. Winfrey has come a long way from her poor upbringings, and is worth $2.9 billion as of 2009, according to Forbes.

I also like the stories of J.K. Rowling, Jay-Z, and Celine Dion.

Some kid just said his school had a poll and of 400 or so eighteen year olds some 350 were voting Obama. Why are you voting Obama? Is it because you need a tax break on your pencils and notebooks? Is it because you’re too chicken shit to go out and fight for what’s right in the world and for your country’s safety from terrorism? Is it because you like his rockstar personality? I mean really…you are making this a generational thing and from someone slightly older…I’m telling you that you are making a huge mistake. This is not an Prom King election…this is the man you want to run your country for the next four years. This decision will not only impact you but your parents and grandparents as well. Vote for the candidate that better suits your needs but be an informed voter…don’t just vote for Obama because it’s the cool thing to do.

  24. I just want to know why everyone in America seems to think that all journalists have a liberal bias. This is the biggest crap I’ve ever heard…because if you seriously think about it, ALL news corporations are OWNED and OPERATED by media moguls who control what is aired. Furthermore, journalists do their very best to be unbiased (I know, I’m a journalism major…news is my thing.) And if you look at the facts…there are far more articles about kids getting their news from John Stewart then people getting their news from far-more-biased Bill O’Reilly. Also, there is no “Liberal” media channel because…well apparently someone tricked everyone into believing they’re all liberal.

I personally think this was a myth created by Fox News conglomerates to promote their extremely-biased conservative channel…which they like to pretend is fair and balanced….when most other channels are fair closer to this.

Also…the New York Times founded the concept of unbiased journalism. Surprise!

Surprise!

Why does a secret meeting of over 100 extremely powerful people (Media moguls, business tycoons, American politicians, European royalty, etc) get VERY little coverage from the media?

So why isn’t Bilderberg covered by the major news media, but something trivial like how much weight Snooki from Jersey Shore lost over the past winter is?

Surprise!

from both the opposition leader and current Prime Minister just before that country has it’s national elections …

The Media Mogul in question is the largest single holder of Media in those two countries …

The meetings with the Current PM and Opposition leader are not done by the journalists he employs but rather with himself …

That is what Rupert Murdoch does in Australia and I believe the U.K. before an election … do you think that is an appropriate way to run a democratic process … and that’s not even mentioning the close ties this Media Baron has with other senior members of various political parties in those countries and the U.S.

So since I believe this individual has done so much to corrupt the Democratic processes of at least three countries … is it acceptable in a spiritual manner that I dance for joy and have a beer or twenty , when the grim reaper rids us of his disgusting presence … ?
Joel V – that might be how it is … but it doesn’t work … not for me it doesn’t anyway …
The Love Doctor – very high on the list would be making sure regulations concerning limiting media ownership laws are not reinstated …
